ROTARY DRYER FOR BAGASSE DRYINGBagasse is the fibrous matter that remains after sugarcane or sorghum stalks are crushed to extract their juice. Bagasse is used as a biofuel and a substitute for wood for the production of pulp, paper and board.
For every 10 tons of sugarcane crushed, a sugar factory produces nearly 3 tons of wet bagasse. The high moisture content of bagasse, typically 40–50%, is detrimental to its use as a fuel or further processing. That’s where bagasse dryer come in.Bagasse drying can use boiler flue gas drying. Sugar plant boiler flue gas temperature is usually between 160 ~ 180 ???, still has a great value of thermal energy. The hot air will be extracted from the boiler flue and sent into the dryer by induced draft fan. With the function of gravity and rotary drums, bagasse will be suspended in the drying unit and fully mixed with hot air, and then a lot of water will be evaporated. The important conversion from high humidity to low humidity, from high viscosity to non-stick will be completed. Under the effect of material lifting system, material will be constantly thrown and raised in the drying unit to form a uniform material curtain and fill up the drying space, thus more adequately contact with hot air. It maximizes the utilization of heat, enhances evaporation intensity. The water vapor will discharge from the end of the drum through the discharge hood nozzle. Fresh sugar cane bagasse moisture between 48% to 50%, after a special dryer for sugarcane, moisture content can be below 12%.Mechanical Structure and Working Principle of bagasse dryer:The bagasse dryer consists of heat supply source, feeding machine, revolving cylinder, discharging machine, induced-draft fan, tripper, and power distribution cabinet; after enter the dryer machine, the wet vinasse distributes in the dryer equably and contacts the hot air fully when flipped by the lifting plate in the drum, this will quicken the heat transfer and mass transfer. During the drying process, with action of the inclined lifting plate and heat medium, the dried vinasse is discharged from the one of the Dryer through the discharge hood.
